Zantac is employed for healing certain conditions that bring about the body to make too much stomach acid (eg, ZollingerEllison syndrome). Additionally it is used in the treatment of ulcers of the tiny bowel that never have reacted to other treatment. It could be utilized as a short-term choice to oral ranitidine, in individuals who are unable to have medicine orally. Zantac can be an H2-receptor blocker. It operates by blocking the action of histamine in the stomach. This decreases the number of acid the gut makes. Lowering stomach acid helps to reduce acid reflux, heal irritation of the esophagus, and heal ulcers of the stomach or intestines.
Use Zantac as directed by your physician.
Do not take Zantac in bigger quantities, or go on it for more than suggested by your physician.
Antacids may be taken by you if you are focused to do thus by your physician throughout the time you are using Zantac.
Continue to make use of Zantac even when you are feeling well. Don't miss any serving.
Should you miss a dose of Zantac, utilize it as promptly as possible. When it is almost your moment for your next dose, omit the missed dose and go back to your periodic dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
Ask your physician any queries you may have about how exactly to use Zantac.
Don't use Zantac if:
You're sensitive to any ingredient in Zantac
You possess a history of the blood disease porphyria
You're taking dasatinib.
Contact your physician or physician right away if any of these apply to you.
Some health conditions may interact with Zantac. If you got any health conditions, particularly if any of the following apply to you tell your doctor or druggist:
In case you are pregnant, intending to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
In case you are taking any prescription or non-prescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
if you have allergies to medications, foods, or other substances
When you have a history of kidney or liver issues
When you have abnormal blood chemical levels or even a history of irregular pulse.
Some medicines may interact with Zantac. Tell your doctor if you're taking any other medicines, especially the following:
Certain benzodiazepines (eg, midazolam, triazolam), glipizide, procainamide, or coumadin because the chance of these side effects can be increased by Zantac
Dasatinib, because their effectiveness may be lowered by Zantac delavirdine, gefitinib, certain HIV protease inhibitors (eg, atazanavir), itraconazole, or nizoral.
This might not be a whole record of all interactions that may occur. Ask your doctor if Zantac may interact with several other medicines which you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.
Crucial safety information:
Zantac may infrequently cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Zantac with warning. Do not drive or perform other possible dangerous jobs until you know how you react to it.
Zantac may interfere with certain lab tests, including urine protein tests. Make sure your physician and lab staff know that you are using Zantac.
While you use Zantac lab tests, including liver function, may be carried out. These tests may be utilized to track your condition or check for side effects. Make sure to keep all physician and lab appointments.
Zantac must be used with extreme care in children younger four weeks; effectiveness and security in these children haven't been affirmed.
Maternity and breastfeeding: In case you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You are going to have to discuss the risks and advantages of using Zantac while you are pregnant. Zantac can be found in mother's milk. Do not breastfeed while taking Zantac.
